Programs

The Columbus Chapter presents a variety of programs and outreach events to involve members of the community in various focus areas of the chapter. The Columbus International Festival is our largest outreach event, but we also present other programs such as the International Community Forum and Global Speakers' Bureau. The chapter also maintains the Nemzer Memorial Flag collection, an assortment of approximately 185 international flags, available for loan at local community events.

The newest arm of chapter programs is the YPIC, Young Professionals for International Cooperation. Currently a joint program between UNACOL and the Columbus Council on World Affairs, YPIC is a newly formed part of UNA-USA with programming targeted towards the younger members of UNA-USA and the community at large.

The most recent program venture for the chapter was brought by acting chapter president Frank Titus, who presented the idea of a joint cooperative between other non-governmental organizations to begin a drive to provide solar cooking stoves to those displaced by global hostility and conflict. The proposal was met with rousing approval, and a program plan is being developed to integrate this worthy and relatively inexpensive ($25.00) solution into our current programming areas.
